Donald L. Ross, 86, went to be with his Lord, at his home on Dec. 14, 2013. He was born on May 11, 1927, in Mayfield, Kan., the son of Raliegh and Emma (Heasty) Ross.
Don graduated from Milan High School, Milan, Kan., and attended Sterling College. He served in the US Army, stationed in Korea. Don was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Cosmosphere. He retired from Farmers CO-OP after more than 30 years. On Jan. 16, 1948, he married Lenora Paisley in Milan, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: daughters, Connie Link, and her children, Whitney and Ryan Gleason, all of Wichita, Cindy Vincent and husband Gary, and their children, Andrew Vincent and wife Kristine, and Amy Garcia and husband Corey, all of Hutchinson; brother, Jerry Ross of Mayfield; sisters, Evalyn Southwick of Derby, Judy Arnold of Johnson; sister-in-law, Arlene Ross of Wichita; several nieces and nephews; and two great-grandsons, Alex and Chase Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Calvin Ross.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
