Donald Eugene Schmucker, 88, died Friday, February 23, 2018, at Village of St. Peters, St. Peters, Missouri. He was born July 9, 1929, in Abbyville, to Jess Paul and Blanche (Walker) Schmucker.
Donald graduated from Abbyville High School in 1947, Moody Bible Institute in 1956, and Westmont College in California in 1958. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in O'Fallon, Missouri. Donald was an evangelist, who was passionate about sharing the gospel with anyone he met. He had been a Youth for Christ Director in Kansas and Nebraska, and volunteered countless hours for the Billy Graham Call Center.
On September 9, 2006, he married Grace (Wood) Rowley in Forest Park, Missouri. She died January 1, 2014. Donald is survived by: sister-in-law, Charlotte Schmucker; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and stepchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Beulah Kueck; and brothers, Harvey and Larry Schmucker.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, 3017 N. Sterling Road, Sterling. Private burial will take place in the church cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
