Obituary

Donald L. Swanson, 74, died Dec. 3, 2005, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Hutchinson, the son of Eskel and Hannah Anderson Swanson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Junior College. A lifetime Hutchinson area resident, he was a retired farmer and stockman.

He belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include: two brothers, John and his friend Marjorie Keller, and Harold and his wife, Donna, all of Hutchinson; three nephews, Guy, and his wife, Mary and their children, Paige, McKenzie and Conner, all of Leawood, Hal Swanson and Dan Ollis, both of Los Angeles; a niece, Kim Brack and her husband, Les, and their children, Matt and fiance, Val Wurtz, and Jillian, all of Topeka.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, with the Revs. Tim Carey and Loren Mai presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will be closed.

Memorials may be sent to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the funeral home.
