Donald R. Vibbert, 76, died Aug. 10, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Mitchell, S.D., to Marton and Madonna Jennings Vibbert.

Donald moved to Hutchinson in 1974. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, TREA and AFSA. Donald retired from the Air Force where he was a Tech Sgt. On July 22, 1962, he married Edythe Gaede in Salina. Donald and Edythe were a part of the State Fair Promenaders.

Survivors include: wife, Edythe of Hutchinson; sons, Robert (Mary A.) Vibbert of Hutchinson and Greg (Alana) Vibbert of Hutchinson; daughter, Debra Hensley of Irving, Texas; sons, Douglas (Rozann) Vibbert of Hutchinson, Byron Vibbert of Halstead and Donnie Maeschen (Cheryl) of South Dakota; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, aunt Bernie and uncle Norman Peterson.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today with family to receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park with military honors by McConnell Air Force Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church or the VFW #1361, in care of the mortuary.
