Obituary

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Donato Alonzo, 90, a loving and caring husband, father, uncle, god father, and great friend to lots of people, joined his loving wife Louisa in heaven on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

He was a parish member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He loved to see his children happy in life and was always there encouraging them to find out what they enjoyed doing and to get paid to do it. He took great pride that his children went to college and found ways to help others who needed assistance. He was a self learner and enjoyed challenging others with his vast knowledge of politics with others who did not agree with him. His love for his children, family, and others will be missed.

Survivors include: his children, Donette Alonzo, Jerry Alonzo, Thomas Alonzo, and Jerome Alonzo, all of Kansas City, Mo.; and many wonderful nieces and a nephew Jerry. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, Jay Alonzo and Marina Davis; and two brothers, John Alonzo and Jim Alonzo.

A parish rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, and Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J.
