Donna M. Showalter, 88, died Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 17, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Donald H. and Elsie F. (Emery) Sellers.
Donna graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1948 and Emporia State Teachers College in 1954. She was a home economics teacher at Liberty Middle School. Donna was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of PEO Chapter EK. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing bridge, but her true joy was her family. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
On January 27, 1952, she married John Showalter in Hutchinson.
Donna is survived by: her husband of 66 years, John; son, Chris Showalter and wife Dee Ann; daughter, Ann Cooper and husband Andy; daughter-in-law, Marlene Showalter (Stan Martindell); brothers, Merl Sellers, Dean Sellers, Ron Sellers and wife Ann; sister-in-law, Elanor McCoy; and grandchildren, Sara Showalter, Cari Torrez and husband Corey, Thomas Showalter and fiancée Abby Beuerlein, Crosby Cooper, Kelsey Cooper (Mitchell Wittman).
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Fred Showalter; brother, Harold Sellers; and sisters-in-law, Roonie Sellers and Gay Sellers.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman, Hutchinson, with Keith Neill officiating. Private family burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
