Dorene Louise (Burns) Krenzin, 85, passed away on August 5, 2009, in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
She was born in Stafford, Kansas on October 7, 1923, and married her husband Ernie (from Plevna, Kansas) in 1944.
Dorene and Ernie served in Africa with Mission Aviation Fellowship during the late 1950s. Dorene, Ernie and children then moved to Orange County, California in 1961. Ernie and Dorene officially retired from Mission Aviation Fellowship in 1989, but continued to work for them voluntarily until 1997. Ernie preceded her in death on August 21, 2005.
Dorene is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Regina Krenzin (missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators living in Waxhaw, NC); son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Michele Krenzin (design engineer and administrative assistant living in Huntington Beach, CA); daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Doug Baughman (missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators living in Waxhaw, NC); brother, Duane Burns and wife Jeanette, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Faye Dunlap and Geraldine Ruzick.
Viewings will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday Aug. 14, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, Kansas, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 15, 2009, at the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Sterling, Kansas, followed immediately by a graveside service in the SEBC Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any mission agency in honor of Dorene Krenzin.
