Doris P. Griffin, 91, died Oct. 7, 2007, at her home, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Henry Thomas and Gladys Lena Bobey Lanning. She attended Hutchinson High School. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, moving from Nickerson in 1978, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Fairview United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Central Community Supper Club.
On June 25, 1933, she married William E. "Bill" Griffin in Little River. He died March 30, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, John W., Nickerson; a sister, Evelyn Miller, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Larry and Karen Hase, Kenneth and Dana Hase, Jeannie and Brad Heck, David W. Griffin, Jennifer Garcia, and Allen and Donna Bugner; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce J. Hase, a brother, Wilbur Lanning, a sister, Ruby Snyder, a granddaughter, Gail Bugner, and a great-grandchild, Russell Griffin.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Nancy Proffitt presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the chapel, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or Fairview United Methodist Church, both in care of the funeral home.
