Obituary

Doris Leona Wisley Mitchell Hamilton, 90, died March 13, 2009, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.

She was born May 4, 1918, in Haven, the daughter of Rufus C. and Minnie W. King Wisley. She attended grade school and high school in Arlington. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a retired collector for MasterCard at Union National Bank in Wichita in 1980. Prior, she was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Hutchinson and Wichita.

She belonged to First Assembly of God in Hutchinson. During World War II, she worked at the Naval Air Station near Hutchinson and later worked at Boeing Wichita, also during World War II.

On Dec. 24, 1934, she married Arthur R. Mitchell in Kingman. They were later divorced. She later married William D. "Bill" Hamilton on Sept. 27, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas. He died Oct. 16, 1990.

Survivors include: daughters, Joyce Dick and husband Larry, and Judith Davis and husband, Don, all of Hutchinson; three granddaughters; three grandsons; six great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; three great-great- granddaughters; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Walter Wilsey; two sisters, Cora Tippie and Lois Ardella Mitchell; a grandson, Kevin Dick; and a great-granddaughter, Courtney Tipton.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church in South Hutchinson, with Pastor Eric Miller presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County or T.E.C.H. or the American Heart Association, in care of the mortuary.
