Obituary

BUHLER - Doris S. Moore 91, died April 15, 2008 at the Buhler Sunshine Home, Buhler. She was born Jan. 24, 1917, on the family farm south of Cedar Vale, the daughter of Frank and Olive Sollers Seaman.

She attended the Chautauqua County rural schools, graduated in 1933 from Cedar Vale High School, and attended American Business College in Wichita. She was employed several years as a secretary for Emerson Electric Branch office at Boeing, and for All Church Press, both in Wichita.

She had lived in Hutchinson since 1979, moving from Salina. In 2003, she moved to the Buhler Sunshine Home in Buhler.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and was active in American Baptist Women's Ministries. She was always active in mission work in churches where she was a member, taught Sunday school for many years, and worked with children and youth groups. Her hobbies included crafts, gardening and flowers.

On Nov. 4, 1967, she married E. Maynard Moore at Wichita. He died Dec. 6, 2007.

Survivors include two stepsons, Marvin Moore and wife Barbara, Farmington, N.M., and Scott Moore, Wichita; two stepdaughters; Carol Shetler, Farmington, N.Y., and Cathy Dyson, Wichita; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Seaman.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Buhler Sunshine Home Chapel, Buhler, with the Rev. Stephen M. Taylor and Pastor Gerald Salmans presiding. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
