Doris L. Rank's Obituary
Doris L. Rank, 82, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at the Hospice House in Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Maryville, Mo., the daughter of Otho D. and Grace N. Adkins Young.
She grew up in Maryville and attended schools there, graduating from Horace Mann High School in 1945. She later attended one year of business college. She was a member of First Christian Church in Maryville. She moved to Hutchinson in 1978 from Maryville. She owned and operated the "This & That Shop," an antique and furniture restoration shop in Hutchinson.
She married Richard C. Rank on May 29, 1979, in Miami, Okla. He died May 9, 1983.
Survivors include nephews, Randy Rank, and his wife Sandy, Plevna, and David Rank, Mount Hope. She was preceded in death by: her parents; four children at their births; and a brother, Arthur Young.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, with Robert Shelton presiding. She will lie in state Tuesday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice and Homecare of Reno County in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
