Doris Ann Showalter, 78, of Haven, died December 17, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born February 25, 1943, in Inman, to Gerhard B. and Helen V. (Sawatsky) Hildebrandt.

Doris graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961, Salt City Business College, and received 2 associate's degrees from Hutchinson Community College in marketing/retailing and paralegal. She worked as a sales associate at Walmart, from 1989 until she retired in 2019. Generous to a fault, Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies, working crossword puzzles, and taking pictures.

She is survived by: her children, Carl Showalter (Brandy) of Mineral Wells, TX, Angela Young of Thornton, CO, Abby McMurry (Ed) of Halstead, Amy Sollers (John) of Hutchinson, Andrea Williams (Eric) of Haven; siblings, Ethel Hildebrandt of Fountain Inn, SC, Sandy Taylor (Scott) of Carbondale, Lissa Gardner of Wichita, Stan Hildebrandt (Mary) of Andover; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Sharon Hildebrandt, Elaine Mathis, and Jim Hildebrandt.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery, 703 Arrowhead Rd., Inman. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
