Doris Ann Swank, 90, passed away September 25, 2026, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. She was born January 13, 1936, in Fredonia, KS, to Edger Cecil and Ethel Mae (Durham) Fiscus.

In 1954, Doris graduated from Fredonia High School. On June 6, 1954, she married John Raymond Swank, and together they shared more than 20 years of marriage until his passing on January 9, 1975. Then on June 24, 1975, Doris married Eugene Ray Swank. They shared more than 34 years together until his passing on December 16, 2009.

For most of her life, Doris devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She found her greatest purpose and joy in being a homemaker, raising her children, and creating a warm and loving home for those she loved. In her spare time, Doris found happiness in the simple things she loved most. She took great pride in tending to her flowers, plants, and her beloved fig tree. She had a special love for hummingbirds and enjoyed watching them visit her garden. She also enjoyed crocheting, putting love and care into each piece she created. But for Doris, nothing compared to the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every visit, every conversation, and every moment they shared together.

Doris is survived by: her children, Marcia (Allen) Brown of KS, JD Swank of KS, Doug (Sheri) Swank of WA, and Susan (Archie) Garland of WA; sisters, Mary Lou Sales of MO, and Betty (Everett) Heim of OK; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, John and Eugene Swank; parents, Edger and Ethel Fiscus; sons, Mark, Randy, and Stacey Swank; and brothers, Bill Durham, Gene Fiscus, Donald Fiscus, Wilford Pritchard, and George Fiscus.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. with pastor Jason Avery officiating, at Elliott chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026 at Elliott Mortuary.
