Dorothea "Elaine" Cecil Brashears, 74, of Hutchinson, died March 15, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born on Dec. 22, 1942, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Rupert C. and Jean Faye (Perryman) Brashears, Sr.

Dorothea was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson and was in administration at the Hutchinson Hospital for over 39 years. Survivors include: Brian Brashears and wife Faith of Leawood, Michelle Johnson of Hesston, Everett Tipton and wife Melva of Hutchinson, Mary Alice Jackson and husband Albert of Pensacola, Fla., Valerie Brashears and fiance Michael Bruce of Wichita, Michael Tipton and wife Allison of Hutchinson, Pam Brashears Thompson, Angela McCarther and husband Roy, all of Wichita, and Rupert C. Brashears, Jr. and wife Shirley of Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by: her parents and Butch Tipton.
