Dorothy M. Brooks Nevius, 87, died Aug. 21, 2012, in Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Jefferson, Mo.
She worked for Meschke's North Clothing Store, Three Sister's Store, and Dr. Don Miller until she retired at age 75. Dorothy's first husband, Raymond Brooks, preceded her in death.
She married Marvin Nevius on April 30, 1985, in Hutchinson. He died March 4, 1998.
She is survived by: sons, Robert L. Brooks and wife Bettie of Hutchinson, Randy Brooks and wife Angie of Hutchinson, Ron Brooks of Branson, Mo.; sister-in-law, Carol Farley of Hooker, Okla.; nephew, James Farley of Hooker, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Clarence Farley.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Hooker City Cemetery, Hooker, Okla. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
