Dorothy A. Browning's Obituary
Dorothy A. Browning, 93, died January 17, 2014, at Hester Care Center. She was born April 16, 1920, in Hutchinson, to Fred and Naomi (Nelson) Creech.
Dorothy worked at Winchester Packing Company and Fitzgerald's Grocery Store. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy was volunteer of the year at Good Samaritan, and volunteered at church and Wesley Towers.
On January 2, 1941, she married Cecil N. Browning in Hutchinson. He died April 25, 1985.
She is survived by: daughter, Sheila Forney husband Larry, of Hutchinson; grandson, Tony Morgan and wife Stephanie, of Hayward, CA; granddaughter, Annette Morgan, of Hutchinson;sister, Wilma (Mitchell) Engquist, of Inman; and many special nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary L. Browning, sister, Freda Schrader, and brother, Arthur Creech.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial graveside will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeanine I. Rishel officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to Hester Care Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, Ks 67501.
