Dorothy Elizabeth Chadwick, 98, died August 19, 2026, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born March 1, 1928, in Flat Rock, IL, to Noah Ellis Miller and Mary Harriett Danser.

Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Haven High School. She started work at First National Bank at 18 years old and retired as a vice president of the bank at 78, after 60 years of service. Dorothy loved working at the bank and enjoyed meeting with customers and building lasting relationships and friendships. She enjoyed meeting her friends weekly at the Towne Club, playing cards, and bowling. Dorothy liked watching sports and always cheered on the Kansas State Wildcats. In her retirement, she enjoyed going on bus and airplane trips to go gambling and play the penny-slots with her friends. Most of all, Dorothy cherished spending time with her family. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, as well as a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On May 30, 1948, she married C.D. “Chad” Chadwick, in Burrton. They shared over 52 years of marriage, prior to his death on July 24, 2000.

Dorothy is survived by: her son, Ron (Kathy Madison) Chadwick; grandchildren, Trevor (Erin) Chadwick, all of Hutchinson, Aspen (Ryan) Rank of McPherson; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Emmalyn Chadwick, Layla, Bennett, Sydney, Isla, Penelope and Bernadette Rank; brother, Glen Miller; and nephew, Myron Miller, both of Haven.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Irene Parker; niece, Joleen Spires; and nephew, Gene Parker.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2026, in Laurel Cemetery, 5395 E. Greenfield Rd, Haven, with Pastor Lisa Dale officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary.
