Dorothy E. Chancellor, 88, went to be with the Lord, March 3, 2012, at Pleasant View Home in Inman.

She was born March 10, 1923, in Arlington, Kansas, the daughter of Aaron Oscar and Laura Elva (Truitt) Krob.

Dorothy lived in Preston, Kansas, for 48 years, where she was the owner and operator of Dorothy's Beauty Shop for 30 years. She moved to Hutchinson in 1993.

On Jan. 15, 1940, she married Lloyd E. Chancellor. He died Dec. 20, 2004.

Survivors include: two children, son, Jim Chancellor and wife Thelma, and daughter, Sheryl D. Schroeder and husband Roger, all of Hutchinson; a sister, Linda Plank, Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Michael Boldt, Christina Smith, Janice Murphy and Stacie Schlittenhardt; 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant daughters; granddaughter Laura Hoffman; four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson presiding. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lerado Cemetery, rural Arlington, Kan. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
