Dorothy Elaine 'Dottie' Schrag, 74, of South Hutchinson, was welcomed home by her Savior on August 25, 2018, at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dottie was born March 25, 1944, in rural Reno county, the daughter of Daniel B. and Esther E. (Stucky) Schrag.
She graduated from Central Christian High School, Hutchinson, Bethel Deaconess School of Nursing, Newton, and received her bachelor's degree from Grace University, Omaha, NE. Dottie worked as a Registered Nurse for Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson Clinic, and the Medical Center. She was a lifetime member of First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, and was active in various ministries of the church.
Dottie is survived by: sisters, Betty Harder of Newton, Ruth Schrag, Pauline Schrag, Leona Schrag, all of South Hutchinson, Rosella Pahl and husband Don of Gardner; nephews, Jon Pahl (Amy) and Nate Pahl (Kimbra) of Olathe; great-nieces and nephews, Caleb, Ashley, Ryan, Cohen, Finley, and Adleigh Pahl; aunts, Mary Pauls (John) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Ellen Stucky of Moundridge; uncle, Ben Friesen of Hutchinson; and many other cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother-in-law, Harold Harder; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at First Mennonite Church, 1718 W. Pretty Prairie Rd., Pretty Prairie, with Dr. Don Pahl and Pastor Don Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present to receive friends from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
