Dorothy M. England, 91, a lifelong resident of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2009, at the Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.

Born June 19, 1917, in Hutchinson, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John and Lena Koch McFadden.

Dorothy attended area schools and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She was united in marriage to Luther "Lute" England. The couple loved the outdoors, camping and traveling to visit close friends in Canada. Lute passed away on Dec. 25, 1956.

Dorothy worked at Hutchinson National Bank for many years and later as the office manager at Wagoner Nursery and Prairie Hills Nursery. She was an avid gardener and her homegrown tomatoes and peppers were often enjoyed by family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Lynn, who lives in Hutchinson. In addition, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends will remember "Dottie" for her generosity and devotion to her family.

Besides her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her two brothers, John B. McFadden and Charles F. McFadden.

As per her wishes, a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, in the Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Katrina Palan presiding. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
