Dorothy Irene McQuilliam, 95, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born Jan. 21, 1917, at Haven, the daughter of Frank and Emily Peters Scheele.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a cook for Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Junior College for many years.

On June 6, 1937, she married Loyd L. McQuilliam, in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 31, 1978.

Survivors include: sons, Robert McQuilliam and wife, Sue, of Hays and David McQuilliam and wife Linda of Hutchinson; daughters, Nancy Talbott and husband Bill of Hays, Judith Anderson and husband Phil of Wellington, Colo., Suzanne Oglesby and husband Jim of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Kathy Trapp and husband Bruce of Haven; sisters, Margaret Ioerger and Wilma Tingle both of Goddard; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lloyd McQuilliam; son-in-law, Jim Costigan; sister, Ruth Ioerger; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 East 12th, with Pastor Chad Trunkhill presiding. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church or to Hospice House of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
