Dorothy A. Durr Mears Neitzel, 89, died October 21, 2011 at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson, after a long illness.
She was born January 27, 1922 in Colorado springs, CO to Ermin D. and august Cornelia Johns Walace.
Dorothy graduated from Colorado College and earned her Masters Degree in Library Information Services from Emporia State Teacher's College, where she belonged to Delta Gamma. She taught school in the Eskridge and Topeka area.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371, Elks Lodge #2505, Kimberling City, Missouri, and attended Grace Episcopal Church. Dorothy loved to trave, golf and read.
Survivors include two sons, Duncan Durr and wife Claudia, Hutchinson and Greg Durr and wife Becky, Aberdeene, WA; nephew, Jim Effinger and wife Lyndon, Greeley, CO; niece, Judy Potter and husband Tom, Boulder, CO; 8 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; numerous Step Grandchildre and Step Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Eugene B. Durr, III; sister, Helen Eileen Wallace Effinger Musser and brother, John "Bud" Walter Wallace.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
