Dorothy Marie Norquist, 85, died May 8, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Liberal, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret Frisbie Summers. A Hutchinson resident since 1987 moving from the Abbyville community. She graduated from Liberal High School and she attended Stevens College, Mo. and Hutchinson Community College. She was a homemaker.

She belonged to Forest Park Presbyterian Church and was a volunteer for Hutchinson Area Cancer Support Services.

On March 12, 1947, she married Alvin J. Norquist in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 10, 2005.

Survivors include: a son, Rex and wife, Linda, Hutchinson; a daughter, Penny Norquist, Santa Cruz, Calif.; a sister, Louise LeRoy, Woodland Park, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Denise Norquist, Gardner, Stephanie Norquist, Hutchinson, Jacob Norquist, Santa Cruz, Calf., Matthew Delventhal and wife, Kym, Kansas City, Mo., Stephanie Lawson and husband, Todd, Key West Fla.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a half brother, John and Charles Summers.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Chris Davis presiding. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 9 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
