Dorothy Elaine Nunemaker, 79, died May 3, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Newton, the daughter of Calvin G. and Elsie A. Fensky Hoffman. She graduated from Burdett High School in 1944 and from Halstead School of Nursing in 1947. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a practicing nurse for more than 35 years.
She belonged to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a member of Kansas Medical Assistance Association.
On Dec. 6, 1969, she married Dr. Marion E. Nunemaker in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: her children, Robert and Susan Balding, McPherson, Kathy and Larry Howes, Hutchinson, and Pam and Bruce Berns, Perry; stepchildren, Sharon and Dan Deming, Hutchinson, Susan and John Blocker, Haven, Terry Nunemaker, Rose Hill, Mary Young and Kathy Nunemaker, both of Colorado; a brother, Wilbur Hoffman; a sister, Margie Brown, Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
