Dorothy A. Skoch, 84, died March 10, 2007, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
She was born June 9, 1922, in Silver Lake, the daughter of John and Clara Tenopir Johnston. She was a graduate of Irving, Kansas High School and Palmer Secretarial College. A resident of Hutchinson since 1947, she was a secretary and retired bookkeeper for Wilson Machine Company.
She belonged to the Church of the Holy Cross, Holy Cross Altar Society, Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Hutchinson Community College Alumni and Friends Association, and the Women's Civic Center.
On April 9, 1945, she married Carl E. Skoch in Irving. Carl was well known in the field of education until his retirement in 1984. He died July 28, 1988.
Survivors include: an uncle, several cousins, extended family and many, many friends. There are many area adults whose lives have been touched by this very special couple.
Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory's Cemetery, Marysville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the Church of the Holy Cross, the Kansas Department of Parks and Wildlife or the donor's choice, all in care of the funeral home.
