Dorothy A. (Smith) Bishop, 82, died June 27, 2015, at Thorne Care Center. She was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Pretty Prairie, to John Claude and Nellie Jane (White) Jones.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Victorious Life Church. On May 16, 1946, she married Wilborn Paul Smith in Bentonville, Ark. He died Jan. 20, 1993. She then married Lawrence "Larry" Fay Bishop Jr. on Aug. 24, 1996, in Hutchinson. He died June 25, 2013.
Survivors include: sons, Paul Smith and wife Beverly of Tucson, Ariz., Ken Smith and wife Linda of Victorville, Calif., Roger Smith and wife Cindy of California, and Craig Smith and wife Dianna of Great Bend; daughters, Linda Willbanks and husband Lloyd, and Barbara Ward and husband Mike, all of Hutchinson, and Sharon Ward and husband Tim of Harrison, Ohio; stepsons, Elmer Smith and Richard Smith; sister, Ruby Ratley, all of Hutchinson; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter, Peggy Ann Smith.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
