Dorothy M. Turner

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Dorothy M. Turner, 85, died May 6, 2010, at Hester Care Center at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson.

She was born in Hutchinson on April 8, 1925, to Benjamin and Nettie Dilbeck Mitchell.

She was a lifetime Hutchinson resident. She and her husband Juell owned and operated the Coffey Liqour Store in South Hutchinson. She was a member of South Hutchinson Christian Church, Hospice Breakfast Group, was a volunteer for Victory in the Valley, and was an avid bowler.

She married Juell Coffey on Feb. 14, 1971, in Wichita. He died April 7, 1980. She then married Clinton Turner, and he died July 20, 2001.

Survivors: son Bud and wife Carol Montford of Hutchinson; daughter Judy Dodge of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother Fred Mitchell of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; sisters Marguerite Foster of Hugo, Colo., and Frances Downs of Santa Barbara, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday May 8, 2010, at South Hutchinson Christian Church with Rev. Jeff Arnold officiating. Private burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.
