Dorothy Ann Wheeler, 76, passed away April 28, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born March 1, 1947, in Hutchinson, KS, to Isadore Frank Rohr and Mary Marie (Weiss) Rohr.

Dorothy was a 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was the owner and operator of a day care center. Dorothy spent hours and was very meticulous in taking care of the flower garden in memory of her son, David.

On September 3, 1966, Dorothy married James David Wheeler, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 56 years of marriage.

She is survived by: her husband, James David Wheeler; son, Donald Paul Wheeler; daughter, Joy Ann Wheeler; sister, Patricia (Duane) Redenbaugh; brother, Edward Rohr; and brother-in-law, Charles (Pamela) Wheeler.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents; son, David Scott Wheeler; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with Deacon Todd Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, through Wednesday, May 3, 2023, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
