Douglas Clair Huffman's Obituary
Douglas Clair Huffman, 86, died Nov. 8, 2011, at Hospice House.
He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Hutchinson, to Ed and Mary (Miller) Huffman.
Doug graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943, and Hutchinson Community College in 1950. A retired postal clerk, he was a member of First Baptist Church. Doug served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
On Nov. 21, 1954, he married Carlene Inez Acuff in Grand Junction, Colo. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Terry Huffman and Jeff Huffman and wife, Susie, all of Hutchinson; brother, Robert Huffman and his wife, Viola of Wichita; and sister-in-law, Ruth Huffman of Wichita. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William, Don, George, Verling and Gene Huffman; and three sisters, Mildred Ristine, Marceline Wilcoxen and Maxine Ringer.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials may be made to Hospice House or First Baptist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
