Doyn Virginia Schott, 97, died March 8, 2012, at her home in Clarksville, Ark. She was born Jan. 31, 1915, in Hutchinson, Kan., the daughter of Karl and Anna (Kellog) Smith. On June 3, 1933, she married Austin Arnett. He died in 1956. She then married Melvin C. Schott on May 12, 1962, in Ogden, Utah. He died Nov. 4, 2003. Survivors include: a son, Roy L. Arnett and wife Glenda Sue of Clarksville, Ark.; sister, Darlene Kittle of Hutchinson; brother, Tom Smith of Hugoton; grandchildren, Chrissy Merten, Virginia Phillips, Donald Comstock, Jr., Vicki Arnett, Anne Liebst, Dale White, and Bill White; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter, Oma Jean Comstock, granddaughter, Donna Mae Koontz, two brothers, Oliver "Bud" and Jacob Smith, and four sisters, Evelyn Dittbrenner, Violet Lamb, Verba Mueller, Karole Smith.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday March 13, 2012, in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Needy Paws Animal Shelter, Clarksville, Arkansas, in care of the mortuary.
