Duane Q. Shook, 87, of South Hutchinson, died September 5, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  He was born January 28, 1933, in Rittman, OH, to Justin and Eula (Rauschenberg) Shook.

Duane graduated from Eastern New Mexico University and served in the United States Army.  He was a high school shop teacher and an antique firearms trader.  Duane was a major benefactor of the Fort Hays University Foundation for the Benefit of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, Cheyenne Bottoms, and Eastern New Mexico University.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; wife, Ellen Shook; and son, Byron Q. Shook.

No services are planned.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Fort Hays University Foundation for the Benefit of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, Cheyenne Bottoms, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
