Dwayne James 'D.J.' Depperschmidt, 20, of Hutchinson, died March 13, 2019, as a result of a traffic accident. He was born July 30, 1998, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Thomas J. Depperschmidt and Dorthy V. Flint. D.J. graduated from Fairfield High School in 2016 and was a student at Hutchinson Community College.

He is survived by: father, Tom Depperschmidt (Tammy), Sylvia; mother, Dorothy Flint (Kendall Ellis), Hutchinson; sisters, Malyssa Depperschmidt and fiancé Cody George, Hutchinson, Kailynn Depperschmidt, Sylvia; brothers, Izayah and Hunter Depperschmidt, Sylvia; stepbrothers, Patrick and Joshuawa Bankston, Sylvia; stepsisters, Centhiyah and Kaitlynn Bankston, Sylvia; grandparents, James and Theresa Depperschmidt, Sylvia, Beverly Flint, Macon, MO; step-grandparents, Ron and Cindy Davis, Marion; aunts and uncles, Bob and Jennifer Gunder, Claflin, Justin and Emma Albert, Milton, Star and Benito Zamora, Macon, MO, Rodaicha Wright, Macon, MO, Gary and Janice Davis, Marion; and numerous cousins.

D.J. was preceded in death by his grandfather, Russell Flint.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of D.J.'s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Pleasant Hill Church of the Nazarene, 406 S. Shepherd St., Sylvia, with Pastor James Davis officiating. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Visual Media Department at HCC, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
