LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Dwight Kevin Beltz, 57, died at his home in Los Angeles, Calif. He was born July 1, 1957, to Quinlin and Margaret (Haines) Beltz.
Dwight graduated from Haven High School, Kansas University with a Master of Science in Business and from California State University with a Master's degree in biology. While attending KU, he was a
member of the ACACIA Fraternity.
Dwight served in the Navy for 13 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He also taught biology at California State University for 13 years. Dwight was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: mother, Margaret Denton, Hutchinson; sisters, Vickie Rucker, Hutchinson, and Debbie Wilson (Larry), Topeka; brother, Randy Denton (Carole), Topeka; four nieces, Kristi Wesley (Jon), Darcy Koch (Andy), Michelle Alvarez, Leanna (Joel) Coon; three nephews, Brian Wilson (Melissa), Sean Wilson (Ali), Danny Denton (Julie); and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Quinlin; and stepfather, Leland Denton.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, in Laurel Cemetery, Haven, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may sign the book Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
