Obituary

E. Maxine Castle, 73, died Dec. 14, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born June 6, 1932, in Pretty Prairie, the daughter of William J. Bryan and Adah Catherine Elliott Lintecum. She graduated in 1950 from Nickerson High School, and in 1960, from Sidney's Hairdressing College. A longtime Nickerson resident, she was a beautician, owning Maxine's Beauty Salon, Nickerson.

She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 33, Nickerson.

On Dec. 9, 1951, she married Bill Castle at Nickerson. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Rex, and Dow, both of Hutchinson; a daughter, Yvonne Pickerill and her husband Bob, Overland Park; a brother, Ewell "Wimp" Lintecum, Hutchinson; three sisters, Irene Brown, Haven, Arlene Rees, Nixa, Mo., and Betty Rose Warner, Hutchinson; and four grandsons, Brad Pickerill, Doug Pickerill, Zac Castle, and Cole Castle.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Murl Lintecum; and an infant grandson, Brent Pickerill.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Order of the Eastern Star rites conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 33.

Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers or the Nickerson Masonic Lodge, both in care of the funeral home.
