Earl N. Ditgen, 91, died July 26, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Nickerson, the son of Joseph Clarence and Bessie Louise Stephens Ditgen.
He was a 1938 graduate of Nickerson High School. Earl was a farmer and a real estate agent. He was a member of the Crosspoint Church, Westbrook Campus and he enjoyed restoring old cars.
On April 3, 1941, he married Georgia "Elmo" Caywood in Sterling. She died May 1, 2007.
Survivors include: a daughter, Julie Grieman of Hutchinson; two sons, Jeffrey Ditgen and wife Pam of Hutchinson and Brian Ditgen and wife Christy of Mission Viejo, Calif.; sister, Maxine Spare and husband Richard of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, Clarence Ditgen Jr. and a son-in-law, Bill Grieman.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Crosspoint Church, Westbrook Campus, 2005 N. Hendricks, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Shelton presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
