Earl Eugene Dunbar, 80, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 30, 2010, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
He was born June 28, 1930, in Lafayette, Ind., to Lon and Elizabeth Lovelace Dunbar.
He graduated from Military School in Enid, Okla. He had a career in the military retiring from the Air Force in 1966. He went on to work for Vendo Company out of Kansas City. He was a member of the South Hutchinson Mennonite Church and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell post #1361. He joined the Navy Dec. 23, 1947, in San Pedro, Calif. And retired from the Air Force Nov. of 1966, in Minot, N.D.
He married Emma Grace Unruh May 17, 1953, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Earl E. Dunbar II of Hutchinson; brother, Lon Dunbar Jr. of Lafayette, Ind.; sister, Dorothy E. Schumal of Story City, Iowa; and grandchildren, Heath, Ross, Jessica and Lucas Dunbar all of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lloyd E. Dunbar, and sister, Mary Alice Osler.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Howard Wagler officiating.
Graveside service conducted by United States Air Force Honor Guard at Fairlawn Burial Park.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time Friday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
