Earl Boister Jr., 78, died Aug. 16, 2016, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 2, 1938, in Muskogee, Okla., to Earl and Ona Mae (Murray) Boister.

Earl graduated from Partridge High School in 1956. He worked as a Sales Manager at Sears for 25 years until his retirement. Earl was a member of Union Valley Bible Church.

On April 23, 1958, he married Betty Lou Friesen in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Brad Boister and wife Joyce of Katy, Texas, Troy Boister and wife Marion of Pearland, Texas; daughter, Geri Hickerson and husband Dave of Wichita; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Douglas Boister and Darrell Pruitt, both of California; and sister, Elaine Cheeks of California. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Bob Boister; and sisters, Alline Cumbie and Christine Nighswonger.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. A private family burial will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
