Earlene LaVern Neuway, 89, passed away Jan. 21, 2014, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Abilene, the daughter of Earl V. Findley and Rocelia Mae "Dollie" Dodds Findley.
She was a business executive and one of the founders of Pipeline Testing Consortium, Inc. of Hutchinson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Burrton.
On Oct. 14, 1950, she married Robert Lee Neuway in Newton. Robert died on Oct. 20, 2006. Earlene and Robert had two children, Vergi Beth Neuway Geurian and Michael Lee Neuway. Michael Lee Neuway died Dec. 18, 2012.
Surviving is her daughter, Vergi Geurian (Lonnie); sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Collins of Beloit and Beth Hunter of Wichita; brothers-in-law, Keith Neuway (Ruth) of Mt. Hope, and Ronald Neuway (Kay) of Burrton; daughter-in-law, Heather Neuway of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Brienna Vincent (Will) of Hutchinson, and Rachel Geurian of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Joshua Geurian (Sara) of Hutchinson, Nicholas Neuway of Santa Monica, Calif., James Neuway of Hutchinson; nephew, Earl Findley (Misti) of Hutchinson; four great-grandchildren, Ava, Chloe and Milo Geurian and Rowen Vincent; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son; brothers, Virgil, Charles and Fred Findley; sisters-in-law, Marceline Findley, Mary Findley, Nedra Findley, Marjorie Neuway; and brothers-in-law, Ray Neuway, Robert Collins and Ted Hunter.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Phil Vickers officiating. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
