Ed Myers, 95, passed away March 10, 2015, at Hospice House. Ed was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Bristol, Colo., to Champ E. and Mary L. (Thompson) Myers.
On Aug. 12, 1940, he married Lois Hudson in Sylvia. She passed away Nov. 5, 2011.
He graduated from Sterling High School in 1937 and was a self-
employed contractor in Sylvia for over 50 years.
Ed is survived by: sons, Steve Myers and wife, Lynne, Austin, Texas, and Carl Myers and wife, Ramona, Hutchinson; sisters, Virginia Beard, Minneola, and Evelyn Hildebrand, Fowler; grandchildren, Stephanie Wood, Seth Myers, Linc Myers, Sancha Bell, Megan Brown, Todd Stiggins, and Andrew Myers; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Myers; and daughter, Mary Kay Stiggins.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, in Sylvia Cemetery, followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service at Sylvia United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joyce Beam presiding. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.
