Edd Rogers, 58, died Nov. 24, 2006, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Commerce, Texas, the son of Billy Joe and Grace Etta Moore Rogers. He graduated in 1966, from Commerce High School and then graduated from East Texas State University. A Hutchinson resident since 1991, moving from Wichita, where he had lived since 1976, he retired from Southwestern Bell, after 30 years of service.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to Highlands Golf and Supper Club.
On Sept. 1, 1991, he married Carrie Bontrager Morris. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Kim Simpson and husband, Steve, Wichita, and Kara Hendon and husband, Rob, Overland Park; two stepchildren, Greg Morris and wife, Deb, The Colony, Texas, and Jaime Ford and husband, Barrett, Jasper, Ala.; a sister, Jo Etta Christopher and husband, William, Richardson, Texas; six grandchildren, Phoebe and Ryder Hendon, Alexandria and Reganne Morris, and Caleb and Cooper Ford; and three nephews, Spencer Kirk, Tony Kirk, and Ty Thomas.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Steven Simpson.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Venue 302, 302 East 30 Ave, Hutchinson, with Pastor Irv Hoffman presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County, in care of the funeral home.
