Obituary

Eddie Nayo Vasquez, 66, passed away peacefully at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.  He was born July 10, 1956, in Rocky Ford, CO, to Louis Vasquez and Helen (Apodaca) Vasquez.

Eddie enjoyed football, especially the Denver Broncos.

On July 9, 1976, he married Annette Steadman in Liberal KS.  Together they raised five children, Eddie, Eric, Torr, Keisha, and Cruzito.  Eddie and Annette shared over 46 years of marriage.

He is survived by:  his wife, Annette Vasquez; children, Eddie (Melissa) Vasquez, Eric Vasquez, Torr (Sheridan) Vasquez, Keisha (Jessi) Flores, and Cruzito (Brooke) Vasquez; mother, Helen Vasquez; twelve grandchildren; and siblings, Jane Reyes, Terry (Tina) Vasquez, and Patricia (Pete) Martinez.

Eddie was preceded in death by:  his father; granddaughter, Aaliyah; and grandson, Baze.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Drive, Hutchinson, KS, with Father Charles Kerschen officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS.  Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, and from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, with the family present on Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Eddie N. Vasquez Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
