Obituary

BUSHTON - Edith L. Corn, 94, died September 15, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 18, 1918, in Exeter, Mo., to Frank and Effie Weston Meador.

She moved from Missouri to Oklahoma in a covered wagon.

On Nov. 2, 1946, she married Fred L. Corn in Independence, KS. He died April 1, 1995.

Edith was a wartime secretary in the United States Army Air Force, a post office clerk, and a church secretary. A 50 year resident of Bushton, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bushton.

Survivors include: two sons, David Corn and wife Sheila of Inman, and Roger Corn and wife Deanne of Ellsworth; two daughters, Carolyn Abernethy and husband Rollin of Laramie, Wyo., and Susan Corn of Inman; brother, Ira Meador and wife Charli of Oklahoma City; sister, Betty Morris and husband Bill of Independence, KS; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Edith was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Corn and her husband Roy.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Chad Trunkhill officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. in Bushton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
