Edith P. Jones, 83, died Sept. 22, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Brookings, Ore., the daughter of James Edward and Josephine Bernadine Forge Duffin. She graduated from St. Teresa's Catholic High School in 1941 and Adela Hale Business College in 1942. A Hutchinson resident since 1927, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church since 1927, St. Teresa's Altar Society, Reno County Genealogical Society, and was past president and treasurer of the PTA.
On April 26, 1945, she married Robert G. "Bob" Jones, in Kansas City, Mo. He died Sept. 12, 2001.
Survivors include: three sons, Stephen W., Hutchinson, Robert J., Potomac, Md., and Charles W., Gardner; three brothers, Ray Duffin and George Duffin, both of Wheatland, Mo., and Bill Duffin, Springhill; three sisters, Bernadine Stroberg, Hutchinson, Betty Rothweiler, Sun City, Ariz., and Dorothy Thede, Lady Lake, Fla.; five grandchildren, Douglas Walker, Dr. Kendra Sirolly, Brooksley Jones, Kevin Jones and Ryan Jones; and a great-grandchild, Christopher Sirolly.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Duffin; and a sister, Kay Blankenship.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer and Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery,Hutchinson.
