Edith J. Mooney, 99, died February 1, 2012, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson. She was born September 16, 1912, to Clarence and Mabel James Dunham in Plevna, Kansas. On August 7, 1934, she married Melvin Leroy Mooney in Gage, Oklahoma. He died July 17, 1974.

Survivors include: son, Gerald "Bud" Mooney and wife Charlotte, Milford, KS; daughters, Shirley Hill and husband Brian, Apache Junction, AZ, Nancy Shirbroun and husband John, Scranton, IA, Judy Collins and husband Gene, Henderson, NV, Pam Muns and husband Jim, Hutchinson, KS; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Harold Mooney, and great-grandson, Brandon Brawner.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, with Brian Hill presiding. Burial to follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book today and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Friendship Manor or Believers Tabernacle Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
