Edith F. Strange's Obituary
Edith F. Strange, 89, died May 13, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Elko, Nev., to Frank P. and Edith (Landon) Batchelder.
She attended the University of Vermont and the University of Nevada, where she studied painting and music. Edith was a librarian at the University of Nevada at Reno. She was a water aerobics instructor at the YMCA in Reno for many years.
On July 2, 1949, she married Fay F. Strange in Elko, Nev.
Survivors include: her husband of almost 63 years, Fay F. Strange, of the home; a son, Brian Strange, M.D. and his wife Donna Davis, Hutchinson; a daughter, Heidi Forster and her husband Cris, San Francisco, Calif.; and a grandson, Adam Strange, Tokyo, Japan.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Community Foundation for USD 308 for library books, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
