Obituary

Edith Ann Stutzman 65, passed from this life on November 23, 2012, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, after a short illness. She was born to Tobias and Emma Nisly Stutzman on September 9, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Deprived of oxygen at birth, she was never able to live independently. From age 8 to 57 she lived under the care of Noah and Sarah Weaver and then their daughter Arvilla Weaver of Middlebury, Indiana. During those years, she attended the Amish Church. She enjoyed helping with household chores and playing with animals on the farm. She had a hearty laugh and infectious smile. She loved to arrange the many collectibles in her room. She also loved to hum and sing, particularly songs about Jesus.

Survivors include: her brothers, Perry and Judith Stutzman, and Glenn and Miriam Stutzman, all of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Ervin and Bonita Stutzman, Harrisonburg, Virginia; sister, Erma and Mike Yoder, Ephrata, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Menno Yoder, Merriam, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Edna Stutzman Yoder, her niece, Julia Ann Stutzman, caregivers, Noah, Sarah and Arvilla Weaver.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at Mennonite Manor Chapel, South Hutchinson with Chaplain Todd Schlosser, Pastor David Yoder, and Pastor Al Miller presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday November 25, 2012, with the family to receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in West Center Cemetery with Pastor Paul Nisly presiding.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Mennonite Friendship Communities, or Harden Hospice of Kansas, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. The family expresses gratefulness for the loving services provided by both of these organizations.
