Edna V. Higdon, 95, died Jan. 30, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 5, 1914, in Nowata, Okla. to William Thomas and Anna Bell Reddington Mills.
She was a longtime Hutchinson resident. She was a 1933 graduate of Wilson High School, Wilson, Okla. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.
On Oct. 18, 1933, she married Dave Floyd Higdon in Wilson, Okla. He died May 1, 1986. Survivors include: sons, Paul Higdon and wife Darlene, Hutchinson, Tom Higdon and wife Jerri, Hutchinson and Dave Higdon and wife Chris, Hutchinson; sisters, Dorothy Davis, Midwest City, Okla., Mildred Roe, Fort Worth, Texas, Ida Mae Roe, Godley, Texas and Imogene Esau, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a daughter, Norma Higdon in 1989; a daughter-in-law, Alice Ann Higdon in 2002; a granddaughter Stephanie Sue Bitter in 1962 and a great-grandson Jameson Patrick Schartz in 1995.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead officiating. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Okla., with Duane Eggleston officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Okla.
