Edna Mae Wernet's Obituary
Edna Mae Wernet, 86, died April 5, 2009, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 14, 1923, the daughter of William Newcomb and Hazel Mae Kelly Pearce. She graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson JUCO. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to the Faith United Methodist Church, where she was the church organist for 50 years.
On Jan. 23, 1943, she married Frank Robert Wernet in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 28, 1986.
Survivors include: two daughters, Pam Jacobs and husband Gary, of Hutchison, and Sally Conarroe, of Chicago; a sister, Velda Thoben and husband Bob, of Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren, Marc Jacobs and wife Barbara, of Olathe, Medge Miller and husband Jon, of Ridgfield, Conn., Heather Malcolm and husband Ian, of Bailey, Colo., Tina Conarroe, of New York City, Rick Conarroe, of Chicago, and Ryan Conarroe, of San Jose, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Ian Bertolacci, Chloe Malcolm, Samara Malcolm and Zoe Gitlin.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 8, 2009, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kite presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends 7 to 8: 30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
