Edward Christians, Jr., 83, died March 7, 2015, at his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Edward Sr. and Fannie (Kruger) Christians.

Edward graduated from Rock Rapids High School, Rock Rapids, Iowa in 1950. He retired from both Champlin Petroleum and Buhler USD 313. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Edward enjoyed farming and being with his family.

On Oct. 6, 1957, he married Joyce Loree Dressler in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Todd Christians and wife Tammy Todd of Lowell, Ark.; daughter, Kelly Christians of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Megan Holeman and husband Chris; great-grandson, Brayden Christians; great-granddaughter, Mia Holeman; step great-granddaughter, Lillian Holeman, all of Hutchinson; and sister, Frances Fessler and husband David of Des Moines, Iowa. Edward was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Elmer Christians; and granddaughter, Brandi Christians.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jeff Slater officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corp. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel.
