Edward W. Karohl, 91, died Dec. 22, 2005, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 28, 1914, at St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Earnest A. and Mary E. Wise Karohl. He graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, Mo., and received his Engineering Degree from Omaha University. A longtime Omaha, Neb., resident, moving to Hutchinson in 2004, he was a retired planning engineer for AT&T.
He belonged to Rockbrook United Methodist Church, Omaha, Neb., and was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.
On April 12, 1942, he married Irma Stieneke in Rock Island, Ill. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, the Rev. Richard Karohl and his wife Diane, Aurora, Neb.; a daughter, Virginia Hymer and husband Tom, Hutchinson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earnest; and two sisters, Emily and Marian.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Skip Johnson presiding. Private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa.
